The set includes 6 hardcover collector’s edition Zelda strategy guides, an individually numbered certificate of authenticity, a signature from Mr. Eiji Aonuma, Director of the Zelda series, and comes in a special Treasure Chest case.

Very expensive, but a really cool collectible item.

I can count the number of strategy guides I bought this generation on one hand.  The last was the Hardcover Skyrim guide.  Do you buy strategy guides for any of your games?

I’ve really been trying to be conscientious of the developers/publishers and simply wait to buy new at an acceptable price point for me, but I was tempted by Dead Space 3… but I’ll wait… I think know that I have 100+ games left to play through makes this decision much easier! :)

nah i never bought guides.. the only one i remember buying ever. was the skyward CE guide. i have the map hanging over bed.. i dont see the point in guides anymore unless its a huge game like skyrim or something. even then i dont see the fun in looking at the guide and doing everything set by set.. i just have fun.. i dont think i even used the guide either lol

      • Andy

Yeah, I think with the internet they’ve also lost some of their appeal. In the 90’s I remember guides everywhere but now I barely see them.

Also Asura’s Wrath and Devil May Cry 4 for $9.99

Thanks Tyler, will put it in tomorrow’s post. :)

I couldn’t help myself… went ahead and got Dead Space 3 at gamefly (my 1st purchase from them ever)… a refund showed up in the bank and was the [almost] exact amount for the game… I’m claiming forces beyond my control at this point… lol

I also picked up Inversion from Amazon for 12.00 (2 day prime shipping!)… it’s 14.99 at gamefly used! It’s good to look around no matter how good a deal looks at first. I know it has bad reviews, but I’ve looked at it before, and it looks pretty good to me, so we’ll see. I figure I could off-load it at that price.

      • Andy

Cool! Still need to try the first Dead Space sometime.

Gamefly is a good store. Cases and manuals are basically new because their members only get the discs, and DLC/passes are not used. I’ve bought a bunch of games from them over the years and everything has worked. PS3 games in particular are normally in great condition because of the scratch resistance of Blu-ray discs.

        • Brian Hinson

Cool, I bought the ps3 version of Dead Space 3. I may play it next, when I finish ME3.

You still been playing Borderlands 2? Should I get to it soon? Borderlands was good, but nothing too special, except I think it was my first cell-shaded game… maybe? I enjoyed it… but it wasn’t all that. I think it was the lack of a real story and the game-play just wasn’t awesome like Vanquish, but I rather enjoyed it, just wouldn’t say it is a must play. Hoping Borderlands 2 changes all that!

MLB: The Show 13 is only $20 for PS3 on Amazon right now too!

      • Andy

Thanks for the heads up, but it looks like it has ended. The price has gone back up. They lowered it to $19.99 on the 16th to match Best Buy’s deal of the day (since expired), and took a bit longer to put it back to normal.

    • Tyler

Not sure if anyone will see this late post but I need some feedback…

I bought Red Dead Redemption when it first came out (long ago now) and played the heck out of it. Then I decided to sell it back. Now, I have always wished I had it when the Zombie DLC came out.

So should I buy RDR purely for the Zombie portion?

      • Brian Hinson

You can buy just the undead nightmare part cheap used on amazon and eBay, you don’t need the GOTY version to play it.

      • Brian Hinson

To be even more clear you don’t need the original game to play the undead nightmare dlc, you. Can either get the dlc or disc version.

Very similar to how you can play far cry 3 blood dragon dlc without having ever played or owned far cry 3.
